Spellbreak: Is It Really Good?

Editorial

When it comes to battle royale games, you instantly think of games like PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, and Rules of Survival. These games are all shooting games, and you rarely find battle royale games that use magic and spells. But Spellbreak broke that when it was released in September 2020. Many players say that it deserves to be on top of the Battle Royale games because of how cool and creative the entire gameplay is and how polished the game was made. They deserve all the recognition, especially once you have tried the game yourself.

If you love action, adventure, fantasy, and magic, you will love Spellbreak. It breaks away from other game genres and is so much fun to play. It mixes all of the game genres mentioned above, and it can compete with the most famous battle royale games right now. It is what you want in a fantasy-themed game, with a twist of killing and defeating—all in all, Proletariat Inc. developed a game worth getting addicted to.

Let’s find out how Spellbreak made these lasting impressions on its players and if it’s really worth all the hype! Who knows? You might be its next victim.

A Strategic Battle Royale Game Filled with Magic

Spellbreak was released just this year, and it has already taken the battle royale community by storm. It is available on different gaming platforms, which are PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. As you already know, Spellbreak is different from other battle royale games in terms of its genre. It has a mix of action and fantasy, as well. And instead of using the usual weapons (i.e., guns and melee weapons), it uses elemental powers. In the fantasy world, players get to squad up to threes and battle it out in a crumbling arena.

You will find different kinds of power-ups, magic runes, and gauntlets that you can use to defeat your opponents. Spellbreak offers plenty of fun and exciting game mechanics that will make it worth your while. For example, there are six elemental gauntlets, which have six different elemental attacks: Flame, Frost, Lightning, Wind, Toxic, and Stone. At first, you can only play in groups of three. But there is a duo option updated just recently. The objective of the game is to take out other players until you’re the last one standing. You can use gold, which is the currency, to buy more clothes and avatars.

The Unique Abilities You Get with The Gauntlets

Each gauntlet gives you different abilities and playstyles. For example, the Frost gauntlet works as a sniper, which helps you make precision shots at your opponents from afar. Another one is the Flame gauntlet which lets you shoot out fireballs and lets you put up a massive wall of flame that can also damage your opponents. Once you experiment and try out all gauntlets, you will be able to create a strategy that none of your opponents can withstand. You must study what each of the abilities can do and which ones work best in taking down your enemies.

Plenty of Loots to Take Advantage

In Spellbreak, you will find plenty of loot. One of these will be magic runes that also give you a specific power for a short amount of time. These runes need to cool down before you can use them again. Here are the magic runes you will find in Spellbreak:

  1. Wolf’s Blood Rune – Allows players to see the enemy players’ outlines behind walls and hills for 40 seconds.
  2. Feather Fall Rune – Players launch skyward.
  3. Flight Rune – Players fly for 4 seconds.
  4. Shadow Step Rune – Makes players invisible for 5 seconds while shooting them forward.
  5. Blink Rune – Blasts players forwards for a few seconds. Players can use it thrice before it needs to cool down.
  6. Invisibility Rune – Players become invisible for 10 seconds.
  7. Teleportation Rune – Players teleport a short distance.
  8. Chronomaster Rune – Players get their armor and health back 4 seconds ago.

Honestly, there is no better way to learn about the game than playing it. So, stop reading already. Why don’t you play it now?
