Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 – one of the best-selling games of all time and the best action game of 2009 – finally gets its remastered edition on the PS4 – but only on the single-player campaign. This comes as a special bundle for players who pre-ordered Call of Duty Modern Warfare last year.
The remastered version will include 4K resolutions, better sound design, quality of life visuals, and much-improved lighting and shadowing. While this may be a great revival to one of the best games in the long-running series, it leaves long-time fans confused as to why Activision decided to leave out the multiplayer mode – which was considered to be the best among all of CoD’s online games.
Modern Warfare 2 is currently available for digital download for PS4 owners for $19.99. The game will come out for the Xbox One and PC on April 30th. Purchasing the game will also net you Ghost – one of the fan-favorites of the game – as a playable character on Modern Warfare 2019 and Warzone. There will not be any perks for Call of Duty Mobile players, however.
There is still no news if Activision will ever bring a remastered version of Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer mode on all the major platforms.
