Upcoming Superhero Games to Watch Out For

Features

The gaming industry is growing at a rapid pace, and superhero games are no exception. With so many popular characters and storylines to choose from, it’s no wonder that there are so many new superhero games in development. Despite the disastrous failure of Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix’s alleged pay-to-win Marvel’s Avengers game, developers are still racing to develop the next big superhero games. There’s no denying that despite the various controversies surrounding the category, superhero-themed merchandise is still dominant in today’s pop culture. With that said, let’s take a quick overview of the upcoming superhero games coming to consoles, PC, and mobile.

Seven Superhero Games by AAA Developers

Below is a list of the seven superhero games that are currently in the works;

Marvel’s Wolverine

Announced in September 2021, Marvel’s Wolverine took the PlayStation Showcase audience by surprise especially since the game is being made by Insomniac, the studio responsible for the 2018 hit Marvel’s Spider-Man. Aside from the cinematic trailer featuring the clawed protagonist trashing a bar, Sony and Insomniac did not reveal any info pertaining to the game. The lack of gameplay footage and updates could mean that the game is currently in its early stages of development.

Become a Superhero

Superheroes have been around for a long time. In fact, the first superhero game ever made was Superman for the Atari 2600 in 1979. As expected, the game depicts the iconic superhero as a flying pixel. Nevertheless, the game was positively received during its time with some fans calling it a one-of-a-kind ushering in a new era for home arcade gaming. Superhero games have exploded in popularity since the late 20th century and early 21st century.

Superheroes are everywhere in our culture. You can see them on TV, in movies and comics, and even on the streets! Therefore, it’s only natural that we want to play these characters ourselves. That’s why so many people love to play superhero games – it gives them an opportunity to become their favorite heroes!

The greatness of superhero games is that they let you be the best version of yourself. Whether you’re playing as Batman, Superman, or Spider-Man, you’ll find a game out there for you. You can play as your favorite superhero and save the world from evil, or you can play as your favorite villain and take over the world.

The Bottomline

In general, the superhero game genre is still going strong. The past few years have seen a large number of games about well-known superheroes hit the shelves. However, as more new games are released into the industry, it becomes harder for them to stand out from the crowd and become successful. So a good strategy is important in creating a superhero game; pick a popular hero, do your research, and then see to it. These days, that’s what popular gaming is all about.
