In 2018, the ultimate adventure on Roblox, which was open to all players, was created. This was a treasure hunt event created in collaboration with the movie, Ready Player One. In this epic event, the players were tasked to look for three hidden keys in the game to finish the game. The first player to recover all three keys received a special reward called the Dominus Venari, while all other finishers received the Golden Wings of the Pathfinder. This event was very successful, which made Roblox decide to put together a sequel that would relate to the novel, Ready Player Two.
In this sequel, it will involve playing through 7 different portals or games in the Oasis that would unearth different quests which give players obstacles that they need to overcome to find 7 hidden relics. Since this is an ongoing event, as of this writing, there have already been 5 portals or games opened. The following games are Piggy, Bee Swarm Simulator, Robloxian High School, Bad Business, and Sharkbite.
In Piggy, you will have to play two different books: Book 1 and Book 2. In Book 1, your goal is to avoid getting killed by Piggy within a time limit. For Book 2, the player needs to obtain the Crown of Madness by uncovering clues and finishing objectives. In the next game, Bee Swarm Simulator, your target is to acquire the How To Program Basic Book Hat. By retrieving some required items, you will be able to finish this specific game.
Now for the 3rd portal, Robloxian High School, to be able to finish this, your main goal is to attain the Bomastic Bling. You must get through a lobby where the relic will be waiting for you at the end.
The next portal you will be playing, called Bad Business, is a first-person shooting game. Your main goal is to obtain the 1X1X1X1’S Teapot relic. To do this, you must first equip an outfit with a VR goggle. With this outfit, you will look for 8 symbols across the map which will be scanned by your VR goggles. These 8 symbols will be used to activate a hidden special door. After going through this door, you will find yourself in an area where you will be fighting through zombies to get to the end of the map.
For the 5th portal Sharkbite, you will need to obtain the relic called, Helm of Rip Tide. This game needs to be played by at least two players to get the 5th relic. Also, you will be required to accomplish multiple quests for you to get the relic.
When all 7 of the relics are obtained, players will need to bring them back to the Ready Player Two Hub, the main hub where you can also get the Ready Player Two Book, to successfully finish the event. For the first 77 players to finish the event, they will be able to receive the exclusive item, the Meta Star. In addition to this item, being part of the first 777 finishers of the game will also reward you with the Meta Phones. For all other finishers, they will receive the Meta Shades.
Though the event was set to be released on November 24, 2020, the formal event was scheduled to officially start on December 1, 2020. About the official start, there has been a scheduled virtual question and answer session with author Ernest Cline and Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki on December 1, 2020, at 10 AM PST. It has been said that clues for the treasure hunt event would be given in the virtual Q&A session.
