When is the Release Date of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Game?

News

In 2010, a “Hardcore Violent” video game based on an iconic DC comic series the Suicide Squad hyped up the video game community. Geoff Johns who was the Chief Creative Officer of DC comics during that time made the announcement himself. Nevertheless, despite the hype and the teasers of the game, the official announcement did not happen until August 2020. Thus begins the hype for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Game once again.

What is the Hype All About?

More than just the series that the game is based on, the Suicide Squad hype is due to Rocksteady taking charge of the game’s development. For those who are new to the brand, Rocksteady is responsible for the development of the Batman Arkham series. Not only that, but the game will also become part of the iconic series–making the existing fans excited for the project. With that said, it is only fair to assume that it will feature the same action-packed gameplay, loaded with visual effects and story arcs.

The announcement of the game release in August 2020 surprised the gaming community. Since it also debunked the rumors about the studios’ development of a new Superman video game. Interestingly enough, the first teaser trailer of the game, which made its way to the public on August 22, 2021, featured Superman himself. He appeared in the middle of an ongoing invasion by the iconic villain Brainiac. Superman’s appearance, as what would be considered a villain, may also explain the main title of the game.

Moreover, the first trailer of the game never showed any gameplay footage even though the project is already in development. This made the fans even more curious about the entire project. Adding more to the hype is the announcement of an LA-based Unbroken Studios on April 13, 2021, that they are assisting Rocksteady with the game’s development.

What’s the Plot?

Similar to the upcoming game’s gameplay, the plot or storyline remains a mystery. That is because as far as the plot of the upcoming game goes, we only have the teaser trailer as a guide. In the trailer, Brainiac is seen attacking the Metropolis, while four members of the Suicide Squad hang out on top of a building. The four characters include Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark.

Behind the curtain, as always, is Amanda Waller. She is the one responsible for instructing the team to eliminate the Brainiac tagged as their Alpha Target. Unfortunately, just before the trailer ends, they will face off with Superman. Who, for some reason, is under the control of the master villain himself.

When is the Launch Date of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League?

As for the official launch of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, the trailer only mentioned the year 2022. As to which month remains undetermined. Nevertheless, 2022 is not that far off. This means that we could be seeing a gameplay trailer later this year or early 2022. Other than that, the notion that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is being developed by one of the best and most respected video game studios in the video game industry is reason enough to get excited about the game.

Not to mention that before the game launches, you will be able to see some of the characters in action with the upcoming movie reboot of Suicide Squad. Therefore, if you are itching for some Arkham-style gameplay for this year, then, maybe you should just revisit your Arkham Asylum collection for now–as you will not be seeing the game probably until year 2022.
