But what lifted our spirits during these trying times were video games. Even if everyone was in isolation and quarantine, video games were the only beacon of hope for many individuals. It brought fun and excitement for those who chose to stay inside. And even if it’s already the year 2021, video games will always remain the number one form of entertainment.
2021 brings us numerous surprises and news. For one, there is already a vaccine for the virus, which means normalcy is just right around the corner. 1. Monster Hunter Rise
Continue the hunt for more ferocious monsters in Monster Hunter Rise, one of the most anticipated games in 2021. Following the well-received Monster Hunter World, which was made available for PS4 and Xbox One in 2018, Monster Hunter Rise will be made available in Nintendo Switch. Like in the previous Monster Hunter seasons, you’ll still experience hundreds of hours of beast slaying and adventure — plus more surprises! Are you ready to accept the challenge and become one of the greatest Monster Hunter? Find out by playing Monster Hunter Rise on Switch, which is set to release on March 26, 2021.
2. Resident Evil Village
A direct sequel to Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village is the 8th installment of the popular game series by Capcom. It signifies the village as the key element of how the story takes place. Moreover, the 8th installment is said to be scarier and larger than Resident Evil 7. Get ready because Resident Evil Village will launch on May 7 and will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series XIS, and PC!
Arkane Studios busies themselves away from Dishonor with the new game they have been working on called Deathloop. In this new game, you play as an assassin trapped on an island. The only way out is to kill eight “visionaries” in one time loop. And while you’re busy looking for them, another assassin is hunting you.
Be sure to check out the release of Deathloop on May 21 for PS5 and PC. The Xbox One version will be made available next year.
4. Knockout City
If you’re a fan of dodgeball, then you will have a grand time playing Knockout. The premise of the game is that teams will be throwing dodgeballs at each other in a futuristic city. It’s a mix between Splatoon and dodgeball, which makes it more exciting and adventurous. It’s set to come out on May 21 and will be available for crossplay on PC, Switch, PS4 and PS5, Xbox One, and XIS Series.
5. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
Become an intergalactic adventurer in Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. It was supposed to be launched on the consoled “launch window.” However, Insomniac announced that its official release date will be on June 11 after a few months of being silent. It will be available on Playstation 5 only.
6. Far Cry 6
The perfect action and adventure game, Far Cry 6, was supposed to be released in February. But it was pushed back to an unknown later date. It’s set to be the biggest and most fully-featured of the series, and it all happens in the tropical region of Yara, Cuba. It will be available on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Series XIS, Google Stadia, and Amazon’s Luna platform.
