The entire WWE 2k23 roster was recently revealed, giving fans and players an update on the wrestlers they can expect to see in the game. The developers promised that this latest game would have more wrestlers than the WWE 2k22 game, with 222 wrestlers on its roster. The new game currently has 199 wrestlers already confirmed on the roster. They join John Cena, who is the cover athlete for WWE 2k23.
WWE 2k23 Roster Revealed
Though it’s already a lot of wrestlers, you can expect more to come in future DLCs. The entire WWE 2k23 roster consists of Smackdown, RAW, and NXT wrestlers. It even includes WWE Legends and debuting and returning wrestlers to the game. But some wrestlers were part of the 2k22 roster but are missing in this one. Let’s discuss who’s in and out in the WWE 2k23 roster list in more detail.
The New & Returning Wrestlers to WWE 2k23
When the developers finally confirmed WWE 2k23, many were excited and anticipating who would be on the roster. And those debuting in the game are Bron Breakker, Solo Sikoa, Carmelo Hayes, and Nikkita Lyons. All wrestlers, except Solo, are currently part of the NXT roster. Solo was part of the NXT before moving to the main franchise as a member of The Bloodline. Aside from wrestlers debuting in the game, the WWE 2k23 will also see the return of wrestlers such as Kurt Angle, Lita, Bruno Sammartino, and Nikki and Brie Bella (The Bella Twins). These new wrestlers are welcome additions, providing fans and players with more wrestlers to use. More wrestlers will likely be added soon in future DLCs of the game.
The Wrestlers Who Are Out of WWE 2k23
Though there are already plenty of wrestlers on WWE 2k23, many more are still not yet on the roster. Some have yet to be a part of the WWE 2k23 roster, while others were part of the 2k22 roster but are not part of this one. That’s not unusual, as there are always many factors and reasons why a wrestler won’t be part of the game’s roster. Some of the more notable names that weren’t on the list are Jeff Hardy, Ric Flair, Naomi, and many more.
A total of 44 wrestlers, both male and female, were removed from this year’s game. And these wrestlers are:

Ric Flair in WWE 2k22 won’t be part of WWE 2k23
Some of the wrestlers on this list are removed because they’re no longer part of the WWE company. They’ve moved to other wrestling brands, so there’s no reason to keep them on the roster. Others are just removed for other reasons. It’s possible that some of the wrestlers on the list could return to the roster via a DLC later on.
Other Wrestlers Not Yet in WWE 2k23 Roster
Even in the WWE franchise, many more wrestlers are not yet part of the WWE 2k23 roster. This includes Bray Wyatt, the Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows), Tegan Nox, and many more. These are the wrestlers who returned to WWE late last year and were likely not included during the game’s development. It’s also possible we might see them later on in DLCs.
Aside from these new wrestlers, there are also other WWE legends that you won’t see on the game, like the Big Show, Mark Henry, Chris Jericho, and more. These are WWE legends that are also not part of the WWE company anymore and have signed with other wrestling brands.
The Release Date of WWE 2k23
It’s awesome that a new WWE 2k game will come out soon. And it already has a great roster of wrestlers for players to play and use in the game. Though the roster is plenty, we can expect more wrestlers, and probably even WWE legends, to join soon. The WWE 2k23 game is confirmed to be released on March 17, 2023. It will be available on multiple platforms like the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Microsoft Windows PCs.
