Guides

LEGO has always been popular since 1949 when it started simply as toy bricks for kids. To date, there are now dozens of LEGO series titles out there. The LEGO collection ranges from brand new ones to adapting storylines from famous movies in history. In fact, these little brick people have been providing fans with a lighthearted way to experience such films once again. The Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is no exemption from this. It’s not only the newest LEGO game on the market to date, but it’s also the most ambitious and biggest franchise created by the developers ever.

Bring Forth the Excitement in The Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

If you’re familiar with the Star Wars nonology, then you will be delighted to know that Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is a single game encompassing all the nine films of the movie series. With that in mind, the game took into account the entire narrative of the nine films with nothing missing or edited in between. So brace yourself; the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga offers a lot of gameplay and could even be daunting to newbie players.

Typical to the LEGO games franchises, the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga still follows the same formula but also with lots of exciting revamps. Within the game, players will still be doing combats, hunting for collectibles, solving puzzles, and unlocking hundreds of characters. While these are true for most parts of the franchise, the changes have been made to cater to all age groups. Furthermore, the game does a good job of making the core experience fun for the majority. So newbies can actually just jump right in and start having fun.

However, if you’re one of those players who want more than that, the game offers more depth than you might think. So whether you are a fresh Padawan or an experienced Jedi, this Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga beginner’s guide will help you relive the entire Star Wars saga into an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Concentrate on Finishing Story Mode First

For starters, the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga consists of 45 story missions or levels across all 9 Episodes of the film saga. Whether you’re a trained Jedi or an inexperienced Padawan, we strongly recommend finishing the story mode first. Go through them all at once and complete them while ignoring the optional modes until later.

Now, many of you might question the necessity of doing so. The reason is you cannot do everything immediately. Each stage you complete in the story mode unlocks it in the free play mode where you can choose heroes freely. Aside from that, story missions are the only way to unlock new playable characters. Doing this is imperative to unlock locations for specific characters or those who need certain equipment. But don’t fret if you cannot do this right off the bat; heroes from specific classes are unobtainable initially.

As soon as you begin the game, you cannot travel freely to all the planets and locations on the galaxy map. Completing the story missions gradually reveals the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga galaxy map. After that, these places will be unlocked when you visit them for the first time in the story mode.

Choose From Any Trilogy to Start Your Journey

The first time you start a new game, you will find a unique icon opening to an interactive menu. This showcases a stunning animated scene from each of the saga’s movies. Despite the sequence that the game suggests, you can play it in any order you want.

Of course, those who wish to follow the movie must start from Episode One: The Phantom Menace. Alternatively, you can pick and choose to start with your favorite episode. There really is no stopping you however you want to go with the sequence. You can even begin at Episode 9 then move to Episode 3 then jump to Episode 7. Statistically, the sky is the limit when it comes to your sequence choices.

Obtain Kyber Bricks As Much As Possible

When playing Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, there are lots of areas to explore and numerous items to collect. Albeit this might be initially overwhelming and intimidating, you shouldn’t ignore these items. One of the most vital items to collect is the Kyber Bricks. They are rare from when you start the game but they’re extremely useful in unlocking skills and upgrades.

One important skill to unlock and upgrade using Kyber Bricks is the Attract Studs skill. This skill automatically collects studs as you go around the map before they despawn. Furthermore, this skill lets you concentrate more on other aspects of the game instead of running over each Stud to pick it up.

Studs are essential factors in the game and can be found every time you break things within your sight. Therefore, leave no stone unturned. For every mission, you can break LEGO blocks to drop Studs to collect. Space stations have Kyber Asteroids that drop 5 Kyber Bricks to add to your inventory. Hence, the best way and place to obtain Kyber Bricks is by visiting these space stations and finding Kyber Asteroids to destroy.

Prioritize Purchasing Stud Multipliers

As previously mentioned, Studs are back and they’re here to stay in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Generally speaking, they represent the currency across all LEGO games. As it goes, Studs are necessary for buying characters and extras as well as impact your ranking. To reach the highest rank, True Jedi, you will need a very large number of Studs.

As previously mentioned, you can pick up Studs the same way as obtaining Kyber Bricks – by breaking anything and everything. As usual, the amount of Studs you can acquire from the beginning is limited. Thus, getting a multiplier early on cuts down the time you will need to farm later in the game.

Stud multipliers vary from x2, x4, x6, x8, and x10; and all players start from the bottom multiplier of x2. You can upgrade your multiplier a maximum of five times; when you do, farming for a billion Studs in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be much easier. You can get Stud multipliers by opening the Extras icon and scrolling down to the Studs section. Purchasing multipliers costs two things – one is with Studs and the other is using Datacards; the latter being special collectibles only available in rare locations.

If you hate grinding, we recommend prioritizing upgrading your Stud multiplier to at least x6 early on. The sooner you get to this level, the easier your Stud-hunting journey will be.

Talk to All Non-Player Characters (NPCs)

Aside from destroying everything and anything you come across in your Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga adventure, we also advise you to talk to all NPCs you encounter. Prioritize talking to NPCs with an exclamation point above their heads. They will guide you in the right direction as well as give you side quests for additional rewards.

Sidenotes

Whether you love grinding for Studs or want to steer clear of it, we strongly recommend turning on Fall Recovery. This respawns you to the same location should your character fall down from a ledge. More importantly, this also prevents you from losing all the Studs you accumulated before the fallout.

Not a priority but still is a useful tip – use character disguises to fool your enemies. If you’re a Jedi wandering in enemy territory, fool your enemies by disguising as Dark Vader. Doing so lets you go about the whole mission without having to go into battle. Consequently, it also works the other way around if you are Sith and happen to land on Jedi territory.

If you are feeling adventurous, you can just go on with the game at your pace and discretion. You can also read our review of the Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga game.
